Manav (Akshaye Khanna), the young and brilliant son of an NRI billionaire (Amrish Puri) comes to Chamba (Himachal Pradesh) and finds him self totally bewitched by the beauty of Mansi (Ashwarya Rai), a gifted folk singer and dancer of Chamba. Manav and Mansi fall in love and commit themselves to eachother, but when Mansi and her highly respected folk singer / father Tarababu (Aolknath) visit Manav’s family in Mumbai,l they are insulted and humiliated.
